The author of the famous masterpiece "Le Morte d'Arthur," renowned as the definitive compilation of Arthurian literature in the Middle Ages. He gathered the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table from scattered old poems and tales, compiling them into a single grand epic.
He himself belonged to the knightly class and held King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table as his ultimate ideal.
