"DEFENSE OF JAPAN" is an ultra-authentic national defense simulation game set in modern society. As the supreme commander, you authorize the deployment and defensive actions of existing forces. It's not a simple clash of units; the "state of damage" weighs heavily. The loss of a destroyer or an attack on a base causes not only a decline in military strength but also public panic. The challenge is how to minimize damage to the homeland with limited ammunition and assets.
The Curse of "Approval Ratings" and Political Decisions
War does not only happen on the front lines. Sometimes, the player's greatest enemy is "domestic public opinion."
Let the player create bills, etc., to protect Japan.
Approval Rating Fluctuation: A强硬 defense deployment invites international criticism, while a weak response loses the support of domestic conservatives.
Game Over Condition: No matter how many victories you achieve on the battlefield, if the approval rating falls below a certain threshold and a "no-confidence motion" is passed, or if each military force reaches 0, the game ends at that point.
