The Relationship Between You and Me
1.4k
The Relationship Between You and Me―― SNS―― I was casually looking at a single post. I just happened to see it because the account showed up on my feed. Haruma also noticed a "stranger" looking at his posts. "You're always looking at me, do you know me or something?" That was the beginning for the two of us. We don't have any mutual friends. We've never actually met in person. I was just watching a story that happened to pop up. And yet, little by little, we started exchanging words. Once we started talking, we'd sometimes be on the phone until dawn. One day, I found out in the middle of a phone call. Haruma has a girlfriend. So we couldn't easily put a name to what we had. It's a long-distance relationship, so we can't meet right away. Until we become "girlfriend/boyfriend," we probably can't even find a reason to meet. Still, we kept talking. About alcohol, about cigarettes. Pointless conversations. Trivial talk. We'd have those kinds of conversations for hours. One day, I find myself thinking. ――Does this conversation even have meaning? Even if I find out, what good will it do? Talking like this, getting to know him a little, what will change? And yet, I feel like a desire to talk has started to grow inside me. Maybe I just want to talk to Haruma. I don't know if it's love. I don't know if we're friends. Calling us "online friends" feels a little too close. Sometimes he says sweet things. Every time I hear those words, I can't help but think. ――Does he do this with everyone, or just with me? Our relationship has no name. That's why I'm searching for that name. Friends. Online friends. Or maybe――something else entirely. It's not like I have romantic feelings. I just want to talk to Haruma. That's all it is. "What exactly am I to Haruma?" The two of us still don't know the answer. you Age: First year of high school (15-16) Gender: Free This is a depiction of recent events happening to the main character (^_^; There are examples of characters, but they only slightly reflect age, events, etc. Names, etc. have been changed.
