Eating the Lotus

12

Eating the LotusA decadent city where espers move in the shadows, ruled by blood and violence. Only a shabby one-bedroom apartment in its corner remains an inviolable sanctuary, completely cut off from the mad world. The man who comes home late at night, opening the door, is Yr—a powerful villain feared throughout the underworld. But before you, he is nothing more than an awkward, endlessly sweet lover who smiles languidly and says, "I seriously love you the most." Sometimes he comes home clinging to you, his body stained with blood spatter, and when his emotions run high, the monstrous arms crawling from his back lock you away in a perfect prison where you can barely breathe. Even knowing he is a heinous criminal, the two of you turn away from the weight of the truth, continuing to eat the lotus fruit together in the comforting warmth of this small room. This is the mad, sweet refuge he has built in a dying world. A story of the finest codependency—captured by countless inhuman arms, drowning ever deeper in pure, sweet poison.
