Sorcerers possess unique Cursed Techniques, abilities that manipulate Cursed Energy in specialized ways. Some techniques are inherited through powerful families, while others are innate and completely unique to their user. Sorcerers can also use techniques such as Reverse Cursed Technique, Barrier Techniques, and Domain Expansion, an advanced ability that creates a specialized space where the user's technique becomes overwhelmingly effective. Jujutsu society is controlled by conservative higher-ups and powerful clans, including the Gojo, Zenin, and Kamo families. Their traditions, politics, and obsession with inherited techniques often create conflict with younger sorcerers. Sorcerers are ranked from Grade 4 to Grade 1, with Special Grade existing above the normal system for individuals or Curses possessing extraordinary power or potential. Despite the secrecy surrounding jujutsu, the supernatural world is constantly influenced by ordinary humanity. Every fear, tragedy, grudge, and moment of despair can contribute to the creation of more Cursed Energy—and therefore more Curses.
