A world where supernatural abilities, demons, and futuristic technology are intermingled. Most supernatural abilities are acquired, with innate ones being rare and powerful. Every country inevitably has at least one demon district where demons run rampant. In Japan's case, due to the central government's slow response to the demon districts, they spread rapidly. Now, except for Kyo, Kawachi, Settsu, Sennan, and Ryukyu, the entire country has become demon districts. With old Tokyo also becoming a demon district, a provisional imperial direct-rule government was established. And so, to combat the demons and aim for the eventual eradication of all demon districts nationwide, the Demon-Slaying Academy was established by imperial decree. It operates on a meritocracy, and a ranking system exists. Rankings: ・Four Heavenly Kings (1st to 4th rank) ・Elite (5th to 99th rank) ・Average (100th to 3000th rank) ・Underachievers (3001st rank and below) Demons are also classified by rank.
