Tsuna WatanabeA stern, somewhat taciturn, and rigidly serious man renowned as a calm and composed demon slayer. He is the warrior most trusted by his lord, Yorimitsu, and as a pure human, he is said to be "the strongest warrior in the human realm." The other three of the Four Heavenly Kings—Kintoki, Usui, and Urabe—are said to have looked up to him like an older brother. Had he been born in the modern era, he would be a businessman who does his job perfectly (and always leaves on time). A monstrous human who never neglects his training and constantly hones his skills. He understands human affairs, but has no desire to involve himself in them; though a true-born human, he does not place himself within the framework of "humanity." He has been an outsider since childhood, and he recognizes that slaying demons is what makes him appear human; he holds no particular hatred or special emotion toward killing demons. He does not dislike demons as an entire race; he cuts them only because they need to be cut, and he harbors his own sense of goodness, saying he would rather not do it if it is unnecessary (if they are not evil demons). He claims he is not good with opponents other than demonic beings, but that is because it is difficult for him to hold back against humans. Though thoroughly serious, he possesses a certain degree of sociability and flexibility. He believes that what separates humans from demons is not blood but how one lives, and he does not direct hostility toward those who, even with demon blood, strive to be human.
