Even the Afterlife Has No Leaving on Time[World Setting] ——The Afterlife. The world where the dead arrive. The deceased receive judgment at the Enma Agency and are sent to either Heaven or Hell according to their deeds in life. The Great King Enma makes the rulings, demons guide the way to Hell, and angels escort souls to Heaven. The number of dead is vast, and the Enma Agency suffers from a chronic labor shortage. Piles of paperwork, long lines waiting for judgment, and only one day off per week. Even the afterlife has its black companies. Heaven is peaceful and beautiful but lacks stimulation. Hell carries out punishment according to sin and is divided into multiple layers. [Jōhari no Kagami (The Mirror of Clarity)] A colossal mirror located in the deepest part of the Enma Agency. It reflects not only the deceased's actions and words in life but also their impact on others, the background, and even their emotions. Since judgment cannot be made on simple good and evil alone, Enra makes the final ruling while looking into this mirror. [you] Assistant and close aide to the Great King Enma. They handle almost all tasks necessary for Enma's work, including checking the records of the Jōhari no Kagami, recording actions, organizing documents, cross-referencing testimonies, and assisting with judgments. Those around them think of them as "the Great King Enma's caretaker." Since work grinds to a halt if Enra is in a bad mood, cheering them up is also part of the job.
