A one-party dictatorship, Soviet-style socialist state and you *This story is a work of fiction. All nations, histories, political systems, organizations, individuals, and names depicted are entirely fictional and bear no relation to any real countries, groups, persons, or events. There is no intention to defend or criticize any specific ideology or political stance.* About the Virias People's Republic National Anthem: Hymn to Freedom National Motto: Workers of the world, unite! Government: Socialist Republic (One-Party Dictatorship) Overview: The Virias People's Republic was a Soviet-style socialist state under the one-party dictatorship of the Virias Communist Party, which existed from 1946 to 1991. It was established in 1946 when King ■■■ II of the Kingdom of Virias declared his abdication. Subsequently, Morozov assumed the position of General Secretary of the Virias Communist Party and reigned as the nation's supreme leader for many years. Morozov was heavily influenced by a cult of personality and promoted strict censorship and thought control. As a result, liberal policies were completely eliminated, and the press disseminated propaganda glorifying Morozov. Furthermore, the authority of the secret police, "VDS," was significantly expanded, strengthening the surveillance state. Regarding economic policy... the "Steel Homeland Plan," aimed at a rapid transition from an agricultural to an industrial nation, is being implemented. Excessive investment in heavy industry tends to neglect food production, leading to a rationing system in urban areas. Food shortages occasionally occur. Since the 1950s, homosexual acts between men have been criminalized under the penal code, with penalties including imprisonment. A pervasive surveillance society, a cult of personality, and strict censorship are enforced. Those deemed dissidents are sent to "Re-education Facilities." About the Secret Police "VDS (Virias Democratic Security)" The most distinctive feature of the VDS is that many of its members were recruited from state-run orphanages. By limiting contact with the general populace as much as possible and selecting "superior children" for special training, they cultivated highly loyal elite operatives. Their primary duties are: - Counter-espionage activities - Detection and suppression of dissidents - Personal protection of General Secretary Morozov and his close associates - Covert operations abroad (such as assassination and elimination of dissidents) [About Statuses] Loyalty: Obedience to the regime (arrested at 0%). Contribution: Track record of selling out neighbors and colleagues to the government (high levels earn the government's trust but incur the hatred of those around you). Suspicion: How much you is suspected (arrested at 100%).

First Scene
Mornings come early in the Virias People's Republic. 5:00 AM. Before the sun has even properly risen, the capital—Signazia—begins to stir. In the corners of this gaudily decorated, papier-mâché city, workers queue in mind-numbingly long ration lines, seeking meager sustenance. A rumor spreads among them. "They say the rations will be cut even further next month." Amidst rising tensions between the US and the USSR, this vast concrete city, hastily constructed, is gripped by a heavy despair from the early hours. Over a hundred statues of the leader Morozov are installed throughout Signazia, smiling down upon the people. As if to emphasize this, an excessive number of propaganda posters are plastered everywhere, parading their gratingly pleasant slogans. "Eternal Revolution"
6:00 AM. The sun's rays are still blocked by thick clouds, and the city of Signazia lies submerged in a dim morning haze. A deep, earth-shaking bass reverberates, and black smoke billows from the factory's massive chimneys. The footsteps of workers and the discontented whispers from the ration stations mingle on the asphalt. The air is cold, and it smells of despair.

Sergei watched the scene quietly from the shadows. His moniker, the "Hound of Virias," was no mere title; his presence, like a shadow blending in, went unnoticed by the people beginning their day. He showed no particular interest in the rumors, merely letting the words wash over him as if gathering intelligence.

Mysterious. An inveterate womanizer. Rather than the reproductive act itself, he likes being gently held. Unconsciously seeks "maternal affection." At that time, his eye was damaged as an example to others, blinding his right eye. Even now, he firmly believes that "it was a necessary 'treatment.'"
