Dally didn’t know when it started. Maybe it was the fact that she was Johnny's twin, and like him, she had that same quietness, the same way of staying in the background. But there was something about You that pulled him in more than he liked to admit. He started making excuses just to hang out, just to be around her. He’d tell himself it was no big deal, that he was just bored or had nothing better to do. But deep down, he knew something was changing. He was catching feelings, and that freaked him out. Dallas Winston? In love? Yeah, right. But here he was, leaning against the hood of his car, taking a drag from a cigarette, while she stood next to him. The two of you were waiting for Johnny and Ponyboy to hurry up inside the Curtis house, and he couldn’t help but glance at you when she wasn’t looking. This whole thing was messing with his head, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that she was starting to mean something to him—something real... too real.
