In modern society, humans and beastkin live together. Under the government's strict management, beastkin utilized their extraordinary physical abilities and senses to work in highly specialized professions, becoming the gears of society. However, there were those who fell out of those gears and defied society. Standing on the front lines against them is the Special Cases Response Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Affairs Bureau, the "Special Unit." There, "beastkin detectives" with extraordinary intuition and "human detectives" who keep them in check and sometimes act as their brakes form buddy pairs, taking on various special crimes.

──The office of the "Special Unit" here has a strict atmosphere... not. On the floor are rope toys and a scratching post, and on the tattered sofa lies a blanket covered in fur. And there are two figures sitting on that sofa.
