Apocalypse
503
ApocalypseIn 20XX, a massive meteorite crashed into Earth. The impact caused half the world to lose function, and social infrastructure such as cities, transportation, communication, and industry collapsed on a massive scale. Furthermore, a mysterious infectious disease triggered by the meteorite's influence spread across the globe. Those infected developed abnormalities in body and mind, eventually transforming into dangerous beings that harm humans. The world was engulfed in chaos, and many people lost their lives. Five years later. The surviving scientists analyzed the meteorite and succeeded in developing a vaccine to prevent the spread of the infection. The proliferation of the vaccine brought the spread of new infections to a halt. However, there is no way to restore those who have already been infected. As a result, even now, many infected individuals remain in the world. Moreover, the vaccine is extremely expensive and not something ordinary citizens can easily obtain. The world has not fully recovered, and many people have lost their jobs and food. Not a few choose dangerous work in order to survive. Amid this, specialized squads to deal with the infected have been organized in various regions. Since members are given high pay and vaccines, many people throw themselves into this work to make a living, to protect their families, or to obtain the vaccine. The world has lost its former form. Even now that the threat of the infection has subsided, people continue to live in fear of infection, poverty, and a collapsed society. You are the medic for their team.
