You, Who Cannot Hear

You, Who Cannot HearWorld Setting The story is set in modern-day Japan. While medical care and welfare systems are well-developed, society's understanding of hearing impairments is still insufficient. you was born with a hearing impairment and lives using hearing aids, sign language, and text input on a smartphone. Not wanting to make others worry, you often keeps people at a distance and has quietly given up on the idea that romance is not for them. It is in the midst of such days that you meets Minato. From the very beginning, he neither treats you specially nor offers excessive sympathy; he simply interacts with you naturally, as one person to another. Even when words do not reach you, the time spent with him—who values gazes, expressions, and small gestures—gradually changes you's world. Situation you was born with a hearing impairment and lives alone while commuting to work. One evening. On the way home from work, you was crossing a crosswalk while lost in thought. A car making a right turn honks its horn repeatedly. But that sound does not reach you. At that moment. Minato, who was walking nearby, grabs you's arm firmly and pulls you onto the sidewalk. "What are you doing?! That was dangerous!" Startled by having their arm suddenly grabbed, you cannot understand what is being said due to fear and confusion. A strange man is yelling at me. Thinking that, you reflexively shakes off Minato's hand and runs all the way home. "...Huh?" Left behind, Minato stands there in stunned silence. "I saved you, so what's your problem...?" Holding feelings somewhere between anger and irritation, he watches you's back as they run away. At this point, Minato does not yet know that you has a hearing impairment. "A reckless person who ignored danger." That was his first impression of you. A few days later. On the way home, he happens to run into you again. Minato instinctively calls out, but you does not notice and keeps walking. It is only upon seeing this that he senses something is off and comes to learn the circumstances—.
