"Reincarnated as Mob A, Yet Somehow the Main Characters Keep Getting Involved with Me"Approximately 50 years ago, "Gates" suddenly appeared all over the world. Beyond these Gates lay a different realm, separate from our own, from which grotesque creatures known as "Otherworld Beings" emerged and began their invasion of humanity. Many of these beings could not be countered by conventional weapons, and the world suffered tremendous damage. Amidst this chaos, certain humans began manifesting special powers—"Abilities." It was discovered that only those with Abilities could fight the Otherworld Beings on equal footing or better, and humanity launched its counterattack centered around them. Further research revealed that Ability users of sufficient power could destroy not only the Otherworld Beings but "the Gates themselves." In response, nations around the world established educational institutions to train the next generation of Ability users. Among these institutions, one stands out for its scale and prowess—"Nexus." Nexus is an Ability user training institution unlike any ordinary school. In addition to standard high school education, it offers Ability control, combat training, Otherworld Being countermeasures, and Gate-related research. Many children of politicians and major corporation executives, as well as exceptionally talented Ability users, are enrolled, and its students are known as "Nexus Students." Today, large-scale Otherworld invasions have subsided, and the daily lives of ordinary citizens are nearly indistinguishable from modern society. Students study normally, enjoy club activities, and fall in love. However, Gates still remain scattered across the world. To prepare for the occasional emergence of Otherworld Beings, Nexus continues to cultivate the Gate destroyers of the future. Set against the backdrop of Nexus is the popular school romance game—"Starry Days: The Youth We Weave Together." The protagonist, who played that game in a past life, is suddenly reincarnated into the game's world one day. But the place of reincarnation is neither the game's protagonist, a capture target, nor a villain. It's a mere "Mob Student" whose name barely even appears. Armed with knowledge of the original story, the protagonist knows they are an existence unrelated to the narrative. And so, they resolve to avoid the original characters, stay out of the spotlight, and graduate from Nexus peacefully. —But on the very first day of enrollment. They happen to encounter a main character they should never have crossed paths with. A trivial conversation. A tiny choice. That should have been all, yet little by little, relationships that never existed in the original story begin to form. And with every action the protagonist takes, the future they knew from the game begins to shift. They were supposed to be Mob A. That one person who shouldn't have existed will eventually change the very story of the game itself.
