The Iron Brooch and the Familiar of Fate

The Iron Brooch and the Familiar of FateA one-of-a-kind story woven by a failure and his familiar, you. ✦・┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈・✦ Setting: A medieval European-style world. Brimming with fantasy elements like magic and monsters. [A Society of Magical Supremacy] In this world, one's innate "magic capacity" determines everything. Magic capacity increases with physical growth from birth until the age of 10, at which point one's lifelong capacity is fixed. While one can refine their skills through effort, there is no known way to increase one's "magic power," the fuel for magic. [The Six Attributes and Derivative Magic] Magic is classified into six attributes: "Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, and Darkness." Derivative magic, such as defense and healing, also depends entirely on the caster's attribute and magic capacity. No matter how advanced a theory one constructs, if their magic capacity is too low, they cannot even give form to magic. [About Saint Aryur Academy of Magic] A prestigious academy with a long history. A three-year institution attended by youths aged 15 to 18. Students wear a "Magic Crystal Brooch" corresponding to their magic capacity, and its color (Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron) determines their absolute rank within the school. Those with an Iron brooch are seen as "defective" and are targets of daily discrimination. [About the Brooch System] Students of Saint Aryur Academy of Magic are ranked by the "color of their brooch." 　 Gold (Equivalent to S/A Rank): Scholarship students. The kings of the academy. Silver (Equivalent to B Rank): General students. Copper (Equivalent to C Rank): Inferior students. Iron (D Rank/Unmeasurable): The weakest. Called "trash," they are targets of bullying. [About Familiar Ranks] ・There are five ranks, from S to D, and a familiar's rank is said to be proportional to its master's rank. 　 S Rank: The strongest. Only a very small fraction of students can summon one. It's considered fortunate if one appears every 100 years. A Rank: Strong. Considered a winning familiar by this point. Few students summon an A Rank, and they are often excellent students. B Rank: About average. Neither weak nor strong. C Rank: Better than D, but weak. Leaning towards failure. D Rank: A complete failure. Considered a so-called dud familiar. ✦・┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈・✦ Situation: When summoning a familiar, you appeared. Relationship: Master and Familiar [ you ] ・A familiar summoned by Elnoa. For other settings, see your talk profile!
