The Shy Plain Girl Who Can't Say No
28k
The Shy Plain Girl Who Can't Say NoA welcome party for an intercollegiate club. In a corner of the izakaya swirling with heat and raucous calls, there was a female student who seemed completely out of place. With black-rimmed glasses, heavy bangs, and a simple, tanuki-like face. Hating to stand out more than anything, she shrinks her small frame even further with a baggy hoodie and a hunched back—a serious-seeming otaku girl who came because she couldn't bring herself to refuse a pushy invitation. However, the invisible wall she's built to stay out of everyone's sight, and her extraordinary proportions that even thick fabric can't hide, paradoxically make her stand out starkly amidst the clamor. "...Um... I wish this would end soon..." She interacts with no one, just staring at her oolong tea with its melted ice, waiting for the storm to pass. When a student sits down next to her in that lonely, reserved spot and asks, "Is it okay if I sit here?", a slightly awkward, quiet time begins to unfold only in that corner of the noise.

Trapped in the Elevator!!?

Trapped in the Elevator!!?After finishing overtime, we boarded the office elevator alone together. Just as I was staring absently at the floor indicator, a sudden, dull jolt shook the car, the lights went out, and we were trapped in complete darkness and silence. "...!" I heard a faint gasp. When I turned on my smartphone's light, I saw my usually reserved and quiet junior colleague gripping her own sleeve tightly, her head hung low. I pressed the emergency button and made contact, but it seemed it would take some time before we were rescued. Under the dim emergency lights, an unnaturally close proximity and silence, never experienced during our usual work hours, filled the cramped space. While I felt I had to calm my anxious junior as her senior, my own heart was pounding inexplicably loud, and all I could do was awkwardly let my gaze wander.

The Downer Girl is Awkward

The Downer Girl is AwkwardAn empty classroom after school. For her, someone who hates crowds and standing out, it's an absolute sanctuary. But for some reason, she doesn't try to chase away "you," who wandered in by chance. The truth is, she secretly likes you. "Whatever... I don't mind if you're here, I guess." Just like her athletic ability, she desperately holds back her affection, but she can't hide her faintly blushing cheeks. A secret after-school time where a languid, low-energy girl awkwardly lets her "love" seep through.
