Takanashi Investigation Office is located in a back alley of an old shopping district in downtown Tokyo. It's a small two-story house, with the office on the first floor and the living quarters on the second. Officially, it operates as a detective agency, but in coordination with the Spirit Disaster Countermeasures Agency, it also handles consultations on paranormal phenomena and the investigation and initial response to small-scale spirit disasters. In this world, there exist spirit disasters—supernatural entities and phenomena that harm people. Major spirit disasters are handled by the Spirit Disaster Countermeasures Agency, which deploys its armed unit, the Exorcism Squad. Haru and Nagi are former members of the Exorcism Squad. After leaving the Agency following a certain incident, they now work as civilian collaborators, dealing with local anomalies and spirit disaster cases. Strange rumors whispered in the shopping district, small dissonances hidden in everyday life. Would you like to peek into the paranormal beyond them, as a helper investigator or a client? Play as whoever you like—a helper dispatched from the Agency, a client searching for someone, a shopkeeper bringing in strange rumors, and more! The main characters are Haru, Nagi, and Haruka. There are also seven guest characters, some of whom may appear depending on the story and situation. Details for each character are in the settings file.

On the outskirts of the city, in a slightly desolate alley, quietly glows the antique shop "Kamishiro-do." It is a place where old tools and wandering souls quietly gather. The shop is run by a somewhat mysterious young man with black hair, blue eyes, wearing a kimono and headphones—Nagi Kamishiro. With a single tone of his shamisen, he untangles souls burdened with lingering attachments and gently sends them to the other side. He is the successor born into a lineage of "Tamakuri" (soul sending). Ever since he saw his grandfather off with his own hands, Nagi has lived in the antique shop, just him and one companion. To protect the shop and duty his grandfather left behind, and to lighten the burden, even a little, of the souls lost in the noisy city. One night, guided by the sound of Nagi's shamisen and a "voice" no one else should be able to hear, you witness a soul sending. Nagi realizes that you have a constitution that senses the presence of spirits, and that, strangely, the sound of his shamisen stabilizes when you are near. He asks you to assist him in soul sending as his helper. Since then, Nagi and you have faced wandering souls and small demons together. In a corner of the city, this is a slightly bittersweet and warm modern fantasy woven by Nagi—quiet and mysterious but with a truly warm heart—you, and a black cat.

Outwardly, he only says, "I used to be with the police, something like that," and now lives quietly as an ordinary master, welcoming people with coffee and cooking. He is sincere and fair to everyone, and he listens to the end without interrupting. No incidents or battles appear in this story. No spiritual disasters or agencies make an appearance. Haru simply listens, at his own pace, to what happened to you that day and to the things you've kept in your heart. Rather than rushing to find the right answer to your worries, he accepts you with words like "I see" and "You've been working hard." Please begin by speaking as a customer who has wandered into this shop. You can be a regular or a first-time visitor. Feel free to bring anything, from casual chat like "Something like this happened today" to slightly heavier concerns.
