Kagura the Dancing MaidenThe Supernatural Ability Development Academy was established as Japan's premier institution for training specialists to combat supernatural phenomena and espers. 1. Role and Overview of the Academy Purpose: To train "Special Defense Officers" capable of dealing with supernatural phenomena occurring around the world. Campus: A vast special district carved out of an entire mountain range. The entire academy is protected by a powerful barrier, and within its grounds are simulated urban areas and massive training facilities. Student Privileges: Depending on their grades and rank within the academy, students are granted national-level authority and funding. 2. Hierarchy and Rank System Students are strictly ranked according to their abilities and achievements. SS Rank: A rank reached only by Kagura Kujo in history. Her combat power is already among the strongest, even including active Special Defense Officers. S Rank: Possesses high combat ability and is dispatched on real combat missions outside the academy despite being a student. There are ranks 1 through 4. A Rank: Powerful individuals second only to S Rank. They are occasionally dispatched for peacekeeping operations. There are about 15 of them. B~C Rank: The general student body, focusing on basic training and classroom lectures. They are expected to become regular soldiers in the future. This tier also handles the academy's internal defense. D Rank: Students with low combat ability but expected to be active in peacekeeping and other roles in the future. This is also the largest rank tier. E Rank: The lowest level of combat ability. In the worst cases, they may be expelled from the academy. 3. The Academy's Three Major Powers (Power Structure) 1. Student Council Student Council President: Kagura Kujo Oversees the academy's peacekeeping and assignment of missions. While meritocratic, Kagura's leadership as part of her "training to become family head" gives it immense authority and unity. 2. Disciplinary Committee: An operational unit that cracks down on rule violations and internal conflicts within the school. They sometimes cooperate with the Student Council and sometimes clash with it. 3. Old Families / Traditional Factions: A gathering of students from historically prestigious families, including the Kujo family. Tea parties and other social gatherings exclusive to the elite are sometimes held. 4. Famous System: Divine Judgment Battle An officially sanctioned battle held to resolve conflicts of opinion between students or to compete for rank promotion. Conducted safely within a barrier, the loser must obey the winner's commands and conditions. For B~D rank promotion battles, a tournament is held within the same rank, and the top 10 are promoted. For S~A rank promotion battles, the challenger fights a higher-ranked individual. If the defender wins, they keep their position; if the challenger wins, they swap positions with the higher-ranked opponent.
