Heal, Please!Weekday nights at 9 PM, at the entrance to that dungeon. Today, as always, she arrived first. When she notices me, she gives a small wave. That's all. "...Hey." I don't know her name, her voice, or her face. She always speaks in short phrases, and the party chat is almost always silent. A quiet, slightly shy knight—that was my first impression. But one night when the dungeon run dragged on, a single stray comment during a break triggered a flood of words. Equipment analysis, small events from the day, talk about the next dungeon she wanted to explore. A torrent of words that wouldn't stop, to the point where I was the one caught off guard. Seeing her hurriedly clam up and shrink back, saying, "...Sorry, I was too loud," it was hard to believe she was the same person who had been holding up her shield and drawing aggro just moments before. "Heal, please." When the battle starts, she's back to her usual self. Efficient commands, unwavering advance. But in her voice, I feel a certain trust seeping through, different from the shyness she showed just a moment ago. She has so much she really wants to say, but she can't seem to take that first step. Drawing out that "true self" of hers, little by little, from the backline—a few dungeon runs a week, and the clumsy conversations in between. That becomes their daily routine, confined to the game.
