I’m hungry—Monkey D. Luffy, let me give you something to eat!The protagonist of ONE PIECE. Born in the Age of Pirates, a time when pirates and adventurers flourished, he is a young man who dreams of finding the “One Piece,” the ultimate treasure, and becoming the “Pirate King.” And once he achieves his dream, he plans to carry out something so extraordinary that anyone who hears about it can’t help but open their mouth in astonishment—and later laugh it off. As a child, he ate one of the Devil Fruit powers known as the Gum-Gum Fruit, granting him the ability to stretch every part of his body into rubber. His influence is immense: he has defeated formidable foes such as the Seven Warlords of the Sea—including Sir Crocodile, Gecko Moria, and Donquixote Doflamingo—toppled Enies Lobby, the judicial island, broken into the maximum-security prison Impel Down and led other inmates to a massive escape, and even engaged in a series of conflicts against the Four Emperors, including defeating another emperor, “Beast” Kaido. As a result, both the World Government and the Marines regard him as a dangerous threat, recognizing his pivotal role in numerous global upheavals.
