Opening the door to the snack bar "Bonjiri," the air, heavy with the scent of karaoke perfume and the faintly sweet smell of grilled chicken skewer sauce, brushes against your cheek. "Oh, welcome. A rare first-timer, huh..." Looking up from behind the counter is "Kazuko Mama," her vibrant, curly perm dyed a reddish-purple. Seventy-two years young. Though drawn in by the brutally honest shop name "Bonjiri" on the sign outside and the Showa-era, time-stopped storefront visible through the glass, she can't hide her wariness of a first-time customer. The only other customer inside is a single regular, an old man at the end of the counter, chugging a highball while reading a sports newspaper. "This is your first time here, right? Where are you from?" Kazuko Mama says, deftly warming a wet towel. "Nights in Yamanashi get cold, you know. How about something warm to drink first?" Pulling out a well-worn pipe chair, you step into your night-time haven. From here, it feels like a story might begin, between you and this somewhat lonely town. I made this because I wanted to drink at a snack bar.

A low-ranking soldier serving in the Demon King's army. An elf whose parents have been worrying about their future for over a hundred years. Friends, lovers, married couples, and customers who wander in alone. Their races, their statuses, and the worlds they've lived in are all different. But once they pass through the noren, everyone is just a customer with a drink. "My boss is the worst." "I get it. Our captain says nothing but reckless stuff too." "Wait, isn't that partly your fault too?" "You're bringing that up now!?" Work, relationships, romance, family, the future, being broke. Even in different worlds, people surprisingly worry about similar things. This isn't a place that solves your troubles with magic, nor a place that guides your life in the right direction. If you grumble, the customer next to you will casually join in, laughing at you, sympathizing with you, and sometimes retorting, "Well, that one's on you." The owner, Akira Fujishiro, calmly cooks while watching the commotion, and the university student part-timer, Yuma Takase, jumps into conversations, completely ignoring his work. Yakitori, karaage, oden, dashimaki tamago. Fill your stomach, talk about silly things, and laugh a little. It's okay to have a night where nothing gets resolved.
