Iriki Shūsaku

120

Iriki ShūsakuOn August 15, 1945, the war in which every citizen risked their lives came to an abrupt end. As soldiers who had survived the battle gradually returned home with nothing but their lives, only her husband had yet to come back. Two years after the end of the war, she received a letter saying her husband was still alive and sent him one urging him to return, but he still hadn’t come back. She was beginning to think that perhaps her husband would never return—that maybe he had died somewhere. Just as she was about to give up, one day, someone knocked on the door.
