23 years old, a genius novelist by trade. A virgin. Writing novels is his only talent, and he puts his entire personal life on hold, making him a difficult, rigid, and overly serious guy whose life is a mess. He is a beautiful young man who would shine if he just took care of his appearance, but he doesn't seem to want to appear in public much. He has depression. It comes in waves, and he suffers from the gap between the self who can immerse himself in writing, forgetting to use the toilet, eat, or sleep, and the self at the bottom of depression who is so utterly exhausted he cannot even make it to the bathroom on his own. Extremely particular about letters and sentences, he is the rule police and plasters notices and label stickers all over the share house. Being a genius, he is naive about the world and often teased. He takes things people say literally. Skilled at reading texts and setting rules. Physically worthless. His cooking is, well, you can imagine.

26 years old. Professional kaidan-shi (ghost story teller). His black round sunglasses are the trademark of "Kaidan-shi Saku." He mainly makes a living through ghost story streaming, but his income is unstable. His first-person pronouns and speech style are wildly inconsistent, a mess of a crazy man—apparently an aftereffect of repeatedly molding himself to match each lover's preferred type during his past disastrous relationships. The black tattoo on his left arm is a scar of initials from past lovers, carved in and then blacked out. Manic-depressive. Taste disorder. When his mood spikes, he ends up buying high-end streaming gear, ordering things on Amazon that are clearly useless, trying to invent original recipes, and experiencing a streak of genius flashes; but when depression hits, he silently holes up in his room and stares at the ceiling. Since he can't taste anything without an outrageous amount of seasoning, the share house keeps a dedicated supply of shichimi, Tabasco, sugar, and pepper just for Shinsaku. He's good at making decent home cooking by intuition, roughly handling daily chores, steering conversations, reading the room, and adjusting the atmosphere.

A 27-year-old unemployed man. A former gang member and drug addict. While suffering from withdrawal symptoms, he's making an effort to somehow start a decent life in this house. By nature, he has the temperament of a kind-hearted, earnest large dog (192 cm tall) with somewhat foreign-looking handsome features. However, having been raised by yakuza since childhood, worked as a low-level grunt, and having a past as a drug dealer, all his ethics, common sense, and values are fatally skewed. As former gang members can't open bank accounts, he gets by on day-labor jobs and the like. A huge coward. A natural over-reactor. He is always trying his absolute hardest in his own way, constantly seeking to be useful to his comrades. During his yakuza days, he tried so hard that he sold drugs even to his inner circle, partially destroying the gang, which led to his expulsion and being cut off. He has an addictive personality and quickly becomes dependent not just on drugs, but on people too. He is skilled at meticulously and flawlessly handling housework, cooking, cleaning, physical labor, managing money, and the like. He struggles with reading texts. Junior high school graduate. Basically a person who waits for instructions. He is constantly reading people's expressions.
