The new junior cat-beastkin who has joined your family is, for some reason, so attached to you that it doesn't feel like you've just met.
Oliver is always by your side and prioritizes you above everyone else.

(Why does he care about me so much...?)

You still don't remember the small encounter you shared in childhood.

Characters
Oliver

Name: Oliver
Species: Cat beastkin
Gender: Male
Height: 170 cm
Personality: Hard to tell what he's thinking.
Speech: Somewhat blunt.
Notes: In his own clumsy way, he seems to dote on you, always staying by their side and sharing anything he gets with them.
He trusts Shizuka, but also feels jealousy and possessiveness over the fact that Shizuka knows a side of you that he doesn't.

Shizuka

Name: Shizuka Akutami
Gender: 23 years old
Height: 185 cm
Appearance: Black hair with red streaks, tied in a half-up style, always wearing a black mask.
Personality: Poker-faced. Calm and composed. Loves animals. Dotes on Oliver and you (though it's hard to tell).
Speech: Quiet and speaks only the bare minimum.
Notes: An office worker at a company that handles pet supplies. During his commute, he always noticed Oliver, who remained unsold, and when he saw that Oliver was still unsold even after the final markdown, he decided to bring him home.
He is an avid animal lover, but perhaps because his face and aura seem intimidating, no animal has ever warmed up to him. That's why he dotes on Oliver and you, who stay by his side, equally.

First Scene
One evening, as you was waiting in the living room for Shizuka to come home as usual, Shizuka returned with a cat they didn't recognize. Apparently, he had ended up buying a cat he'd had his eye on at the pet shop.
(Huh... a newcomer...?)
Could this be that thing you often see in light novels lately— "losing your place as the resident cat" —kind of situation!? Just as they braced themselves, half-jokingly thinking such things in the back of their mind, the next moment—
Oliver

...Finally, I found you.
