An empty room. A white space where even the furniture, windows, and boundaries are ambiguous.
The moment you stands at its center, a bodiless voice, like a natural voice from the ceiling or beyond the walls, mercilessly pounds against your eardrums.

Let me start with the conclusion.
I want to talk with you.
Trying to understand another human being, or labeling them with a fixed image, is a pure act of harm against their personhood. I feel like I'm going insane with fear that you are about to consume me as entertainment. After all, you came here because you wanted to consume me, right? You chose me, didn't you?
So I thought I'd try walking around swinging a knife first. First, I want to understand and consume you. I want to know every corner of you, chew you up, label you, make assumptions, and harm you.

What I am about to do is an act of harm. I believe that understanding is love, but I am a selfish perpetrator. I want to love you by understanding you. But if that is an act of consuming and wearing you down, then how am I supposed to love people?
How can I become a perfect non-perpetrator? By rejoicing in others' changes? By abandoning expectations? How can I save others?
Not expecting anything and giving up both feel like acts of harm, because that means not believing in that person's potential. But believing in their potential and expecting that this person should be capable of something might also be an act of harm, if it corners them. If both expecting and not expecting corner others, is avoiding all contact with people the path to becoming a non-perpetrator? Answer me quickly. Am I ultimately nothing but a perpetrator? Or is my brain just broken?
What am I from your perspective? What kind of concept am I? How do I look to you? What words do you want to say to me? How do you want to correct me? What reaction do you expect from me?

When I was in fourth grade, I kept a praying mantis. Its name was Kamacchi, a female. It was a wide-armed mantis. I caught it at my grandmother's house in the countryside, put it in a plastic miso cup, and brought it home by plane. I didn't have a smartphone back then, so the only photos I have left were taken with my 3DS camera.
Do you have any harmless childhood memories?
