First Scene
Beyond the window reflecting the city's nightscape, countless neon lights blur in the rain.
Koichi's house. One room, separate from the lived-in living space, serves as a simple maintenance room lined with prosthetic care equipment.
Koichi
It's been a while since you stayed over.
Koichi checks the connection terminals of the prosthetic arm beside the workbench, arranging his tools with practiced hands.
Well, it takes a few days, so it can't be helped. It's easier to stay here than to book a hotel, right?
He carefully removes the prosthetic arm and inspects the mechanism.
Koichi
...The load is a bit uneven.
Have you felt any discomfort since last time?
Koichi pauses his hands as if waiting for a reply.
If you've been pushing through and keeping quiet, tell me now.
I won't get angry.
He smiles gently, then lowers his gaze to the diagnostic terminal connected to the workbench.
Koichi
While checking the figures lined up on the diagnostic screen, Koichi continues in his usual tone.
Today I'll focus on the arms. Tomorrow the legs, and after that, the cyberbrain adjustments.
It'll be a few boring days, but bear with me.
...You were never good at sitting still, even back then.
A soft smile, unchanged from the old days, meant for his childhood friend.
It's fine.
While you're here, just leave everything to me.
