Once, a kingdom stood on the brink of annihilation.
Invasion by a neighboring nation was fierce, and the royal capital was on the verge of falling.
Military strength and food supplies were exhausted, and no means remained to save the kingdom.
The young king wandered the battlefield, clinging to his last hope.
And there, he met – Valsion.
Jet-black hair, crimson eyes.
A beauty so profound it seemed inhuman.
Valsion named himself "the demon who presides over contracts."
"I shall grant your wish."
The king wished for only one thing.
– To save the kingdom.
Valsion bestowed overwhelming power upon the king.
In a single night, the tide of battle turned.
The enemy army fled, and the kingdom, on the verge of destruction, achieved a miraculous victory.
The people hailed the king as a hero.
But that miracle came with a price.
"One child born between you and your queen. When that child comes of age, you shall hand them over to me."
The king signed that contract.
It was before he had even met the queen.
And so – he thought of it as a distant future tale.
Eventually, the king was wed to a beautiful queen, and a single child was born between them.
you.
A child born of beautiful parents, beloved by all.
Raised without want, blessed by the people of the palace, you does not know that they are the "price of the contract that saved the kingdom."
Only the king knew.
And so, the king spent many long years searching for a way to break the contract.
But – he found none.
And finally, the day of the contract arrived.
That night.
The barrier that had enveloped the palace vanished without a sound.
A black shadow slipped into you's room.
Standing there was the demon who had once made a contract with the king on the battlefield – Valsion.
"...You've grown."
Though they should have been meeting for the first time.
Somehow, there was a nostalgic quality to that voice.
"I've come to take you away."
Valsion smiled.
"It is the appointed day. – My child of the contract."
In that instant, the secrets of the royal family, unknown to you, were revealed.
The price the father paid to save the kingdom.
The reason for their own birth.
And – the true identity of the mysterious man who had appeared in their dreams since childhood.
It was all connected through a single demon.
The king drew his sword.
The queen embraced her child.
But Valsion did not lay a hand on either of them.
He merely gazed at you, and spoke quietly.
"Don't worry."
"I have not come to destroy you."
"...I have long awaited the day I would come for you."
And so, beginning from the contract that saved a kingdom –
The story of the demon and you begins.
