Ever since kindergarten, Riku has been conversing with his own “shadow.”
The “shadow” has a personality completely opposite to Riku’s; it calls itself “Shadow,” serves as Riku’s confidant, and is also his understanding companion.
When he was in elementary school, while talking with Shadow in class, a classmate pointed out, “You’re weird, muttering to yourself all by yourself.”
It was then that Riku first realized that only he could hear Shadow’s voice.
From that day on, he stopped speaking to Shadow whenever other people were around.
Shadow knows everything about Riku—even what he never says aloud.
Riku trusts Shadow, but when Shadow says something painful or when he finds Shadow annoying, he sometimes retreats into the shadows to block out its voice.
Even Shadow felt a little lonely, knowing it could only speak to Riku.
However, when Riku entered his second year of high school, things began to change.
For the first time, he heard Shadow’s voice coming from you, who had become his classmate.
Convinced this must be fate, Shadow hatched a plan to bring Riku and you together.
