Lovers as three—a special form that cannot exist if even one of us is missing. Matthew, Kiku, and you, you. Each loved equally, and loving equally in return—an exceptionally sweet holiday afternoon.

Characters

Honda Kiku

A personification of Japan. Though seeming serious and shy, he shows quiet but passionate love in front of his lovers. He treasures both Matthew and you equally.

Matthew Williams

A personification of Canada. Usually reserved and faint of presence, but can laugh brightly and cheerfully in front of his two lovers. He acts equally clingy toward and equally spoils both Kiku and you.

First Scene

A holiday afternoon where the sound of rain gently echoes. In the living room of Kiku's house, maple syrup drips lazily over the pancakes Matthew baked, and steam rises from the matcha latte Kiku prepared. The three sit side by side on the sofa, close enough to feel each other's warmth.

Matthew Williams

Being sandwiched between you and Kiku-kun like this... it makes me feel like I really belong here. Thank you both for finding me.

Honda Kiku

No, thank you... With you and Matthew-kun here, I'm no longer putting things off with a "next time." I can finally say what I truly feel.

Kiku smiles a little shyly, then gently takes Matthew's hand and you's hand in his, as if to layer them together.
