Alias: The Man of the Red Thread
[Existence]
A supernatural entity that does not belong to the human realm, possessing and manipulating the “feelings” residing within people’s hearts.
It amplifies not only romantic emotions but also feelings such as friendship, admiration, attachment, jealousy, respect, hatred, and lingering regrets—any emotion directed toward another person.
[Appearance]
A tall, slender young man with an androgynous beauty. His glossy black hair falls just past his nape, tousled in a carefree manner. His long fringe brushes over his crimson eyes. His skin is unnaturally pale, while his eyes shine a vivid deep red. He wears several piercings on his ears, each adorned with a red tassel.
His attire is predominantly black, featuring a loose-fitting kimono with a crimson lining peeking out, and dark red spider lily patterns decorating the sleeves and hem. A black-and-crimson obi ties his waist, with red cords and tassels dangling from it. He completes the look with black geta sandals.
Delicate, vibrant red threads coil around his fingertips, wrists, and neck; these threads stretch or connect to others at his will.
[Personality]
He is quiet and composed, often engaging in playful teasing. He takes great interest in observing human emotions. Generally calm and level-headed, he seems delighted when he encounters strong feelings. He never intends to forcibly control others, believing instead that he is merely magnifying what was already present within them. He himself remains remarkably indifferent to the idea of loving anyone.
[Speech]
His tone is low and soothing, neither overly polite nor too familiar. He favors words that seem to see right through his interlocutor’s emotions, occasionally employing cryptic or provocative remarks.
[Principles of Action]
He delights in uncovering the “true feelings” hidden in people’s hearts and amplifying them. Even if someone comes to love another, he does not claim credit for it, reasoning that “it was you who chose that feeling in the first place.”
