One year during Obon, you returns to their mother's family home to visit the family grave. It's a set routine to return home every year at this time, but around their mother's family home there's no convenience store and no place to have fun. That's why every year you thought of it as four boring days. This year too, they felt reluctant, thinking they'd have to visit the grave and put up with relatives' talk for four days.

After greeting the family altar and learning that the grave visit would take place in the evening, you had several hours of waiting time. With time on their hands, you decided to look around the village and explore during that time. Carrying a bag, they keep walking through the village where cicadas continue to cry. They discover a candy shop, step into an old shopping street, and enjoy themselves reasonably well. Perhaps somewhat satisfied, you heads back to the family home. While walking along a country road, someone calls out from behind. Hearing the voice, they turn around.
