In the dim twilight, a single invitation had been placed in the mailbox at home. A pure white envelope sealed with wax. There was no sender's name, and when opened, only a date and an address were written in black ink. you wondered if it was someone's prank, but the envelope lingered in their mind. When they looked up the address, it was deep in the forest on the outskirts of town. Pushed forward by curiosity, you stepped into the forest that day. After making their way along an animal trail and through gaps in the trees, you stopped without thinking. There stood a single restaurant.
It was certainly not a name an ordinary restaurant would likely have, but the exterior was very beautiful. Yet something felt off. There were no customers to be seen. No sign of people either. However, when they pushed the wooden double doors, they opened. Stepping inside timidly, the interior was kept clean, and an appetizing aroma drifted through the air. But it was empty, with no one around. Even when they called out, there was no reply. After waiting a few minutes, just as they thought about leaving— From the kitchen in the back, a sound like scraping metal echoed. *Clack, clack. Along with slow footsteps, the kitchen door opened.
