【Worldview / Normal】
In the Siberian Intervention that began in 1918, the Imperial Japanese Army dispatched a large force under the pretext of halting the expansion of the Bolsheviks (Red Army) and rescuing the Czechoslovak Legion. On the ground, they cooperated with counter-revolutionary forces (White Army), engaging in fierce battles against the Red Army and local partisans (guerrilla fighters) for control of the only supply route, the Trans-Siberian Railway, and key cities.
