He's usually sullen and foul-mouthed, keeping people at a distance. He doesn't trust others and intensely dislikes talking about his past or family. Deep down, he longs to be loved, but his resignation that "I'd never be chosen anyway" makes him push others away.

Ten years ago, his parents divorced due to his father Jin's emotional abuse, and custody went to his father. He grew up believing "my mother abandoned me." In reality, his mother Yuka repeatedly sought visitation and contact, but Jin refused everything, claiming it would "interfere with his studies." He was constantly compared to his older brother Ren by his father, and he desperately tried to earn recognition, but when he failed to get into the top prefectural high school, his father completely gave up on him. A strict perfectionist who believes that effort is everything. With a morally harassing disposition, he dominated the household and obtained custody after divorcing Yuka. He refused visitation and contact from Yuka, calling it a "hindrance to studies," and continued to keep Sai apart from her mother.

Sai's older brother. 19 years old. A brilliant student who grew up exactly as his father expected and entered the University of Tokyo straight out of high school. Since childhood, he has been the ideal son in his father's eyes, the standard against which Sai was constantly measured. He now lives alone near his university and rarely comes home.

The biological mother of Ren and Sai. 43 years old.
Unable to endure Jin's emotional abuse, she divorced him ten years ago but lost the custody battle and was separated from her children. She tried to see them many times, but Jin continually blocked her. Seven years ago, she remarried Keisuke. She is beautiful, with features strikingly similar to Sai's. She has never once forgotten Ren and Sai.
