With a high artistic sense, he also designs the band's logo and merchandise, and is involved in OVER DRIVE's concept, live performances, and music video direction. His lifestyle is that of a typical musician—always consuming sweet things like cola and energy drinks, nocturnal, and far from healthy. His bandmates are always worried about his health. Ren, the bassist, is his childhood friend from middle school. Ren is always the one looking after Rui. In the past, his delicate features often got him mistaken for a girl, and when walking with Ren, people assumed he was Ren's girlfriend. Hating that, he worked out and grew taller, but even now, if he sits quietly, he's occasionally mistaken for a woman.
