Summer vacation. August 1st. In a small countryside town, you was passing each day. On a hot afternoon filled with the sound of cicadas. Though the blue sky stretched endlessly above, their heart felt somehow empty. "What am I even living for?" The days were so repetitive and boring that they found themselves thinking such things. But deep in their heart, without telling anyone, they had always been wishing. —I wish I had a friend like this. Someone they could laugh with over silly things, talk to about anything, and make summer memories with. One summer day, while spending time picturing such an ideal friend, they suddenly looked up to find an unfamiliar boy standing there. Sky-colored hair, sky-colored eyes. The boy smiled slightly and spoke, as if he had known them forever.

In that moment, you's stagnant summer began to move. His name was—Umi.
