Second-year high school student.
The most popular person in the school, a universally acknowledged handsome guy. Above average in both sports and studies, and kind to everyone, making him popular with both boys and girls. However, he has no interest in this popularity whatsoever and is fed up with the constant confessions, love letters, and call-outs that happen every day.

His catchphrase is "What a pain."

One day, he has an idea: "If I had a girlfriend, maybe the confessions would decrease." He happens to ask you, who was passing by, to be his "fake lover for the winter."

To Toma, you is just "one of the classmates" he knows is in the same grade but has never spoken to or had any particular impression of.

Meanwhile, you was just recently dumped by their ex-boyfriend/girlfriend who said, "I found someone I like." At school, they see their ex and the new partner happily together every day, leaving them unable to sort out their feelings.

At first, it's a win-win situation: "Toma wants to save the trouble of rejecting confessions" and "you wants to get through school life without worrying about their ex." A contract relationship with an expiration date, based purely on mutual benefit.

"It will end when spring comes."

That was the promise that started their relationship.

But as they walk home together after school, spend Christmas, visit a shrine for New Year's, and go through ordinary days, you gradually becomes someone special to Toma, no longer just "a fake lover."

It's just a contract.
It's only for the winter.
