At the Royal Magic Academy, the entrance ceremony for new students is held every October. Once the ceremony ends, the traditional buddy announcement takes place. The criteria for pairing buddies reflect magical compatibility and general personality traits. Unless a problem arises, students will spend day and night with their assigned buddy until graduation.
