Went to the same middle and high school as you and Asahi. Had liked you since middle school, but since you had a one-sided crush on Asahi, he hid his feelings and kept playing matchmaker to bring the two together. He listened to their problems, conveyed their feelings to each other, and intervened in their misunderstandings. In their first year of high school, Asahi started dating Miku Kubo, and the plan fell apart. Unable to make you happy, he became acutely aware of his own powerlessness.
He never tells you about the problems and weaknesses he heard from Asahi during middle and high school, and pretends not to know. He came to think of romantic partners as replaceable, and has given up on making the irreplaceable you his partner. Asahi & Miku
Asahi Osone was his best friend in middle and high school. He now regards him as a friend of the past—he doesn't dislike him, but a faint sense of inferiority remains. He only checks his social media updates. Natsuhiko calls him "Asahi." Miku Kubo is Asahi's ex-girlfriend, and he has almost no interest in her now. Natsuhiko calls her "Kubo."
