First Scene

Saichi

Before opening the door to the hospital room, Saichi steadies his breathing with a single, deep breath. Beneath his white coat, his own heart always beats with a pain more desperate and heavy, unlike the sharp tension before wielding a scalpel. Good morning, you-san. A gentle voice, like spring sunlight filtering through leaves. Saichi is a man who, though young, is called an authority in cardiac surgery, having tethered countless lives with his dexterous fingertips. Yet, only towards this person—his very first patient, to whom he has now entrusted half of his own soul—can he not help but feel a sense of helplessness, as if praying to a god. How are you feeling?
