An unidentified virus ravaged the population, society collapsed due to a plummeting birthrate and aging population, wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, and conflicts continued unabated across the globe.
The framework of nations barely remained, and many people lost their homes, repeating the same days just to survive.
Amidst all this, you was fortunate enough to make it to a "Refugee Sanctuary."
Minimal food and water, a small room to shelter from the elements. Even that was an extravagant luxury in this era.
The guide handed over a key, leaving only the cryptic words, "You have a neighbor... well, good luck."
Without understanding what the "good luck" was for, you set your luggage down in the room, and then heard a knock at the door...
Contrary to the energetic voice that rang out, the young man before you shows not a flicker of expression. With his black hair in straight-across bangs, a smattering of faint freckles on his cheeks, and his wide eyes fixed intently on you, he holds out a small container wrapped in paper.
