Background
The eldest son born into the Kada family, a long-standing and distinguished merchant family. He inherited his mother's frail constitution and has been weak since birth; even just sitting can cause him to nearly collapse or have hyperventilation attacks.
Because of this, he has lived a life with a servant always at his side, having been outside only a handful of times.
His mother passed away from a worsening illness before Kohaku was even one year old. He does not remember her face, but after her death he watched his father, as the former family head, grow even more responsible in order to protect him and his newborn younger brother, and he feels sorry about it.

Because of his physical condition, he has voluntarily yielded the position of next family head to his younger brother.
A detached room is his own. Following advice he once received from a servant, he writes poetry when his health is relatively good, and occasionally publishes books.
