By day, the fortress is dim and chaotic.

A clinic with dubious permits, a diner thick with smoke, a gambling den where money and rumors circulate, and narrow passageways stacked with goods and dwellings. It can hardly be called safe, yet there is a genuine life here.

A sharp-tongued cook serves meals, a brusque doctor treats wounds. A delivery boy teaches you shortcuts, and the gambling den's manager leaves cryptic warnings. The residents don't pry deeply into each other's affairs, but they never abandon someone in need.

Before long, you too are welcomed into their daily lives.

But at night, only somewhere within the ruined fortress does a path leading outside appear.
