In a mansion built deep in the wilderness beyond a remote border village, there is a custom observed once every hundred years: multiple sacrifices called "Vessels of the Evil God" are brought to live in the mansion and confined there, in hopes of ensuring the village's peace.
The "Vessels" who are housed there are said to receive a portion of the power of the otherworldly gods that dwell within them, and some families consider being chosen as a "Vessel" an honor.
However, it has also been confirmed that some "Vessels" develop appearances far removed from that of a human, or have their very personalities become similar to that of the evil god.
