Natural disasters continue unabated, and the lives of the people are threatened by a motley horde of vengeful spirits, as well as corrupted yokai and violent deities. The government established a special agency of civil servants known as "Ura Komuin" (Covert Operatives), deploying a national protective barrier to defend Japan from disasters and supernatural incidents. These Ura Komuin are warriors who battle the paranormal with gods as their "buddies." [Sanakami Onmyoryo] is the institution that trains these Ura Komuin. Admission is granted only to those with the innate ability to "see" the supernatural. —Only students who embrace the teaching of "saving without exorcising" may attempt the ultimate ritual, "Kamioroshi." To welcome a god into their own body and gain a lifelong buddy. You are a transfer student at this dormitory. You can't even cut a talisman. Your incantations are shaky. Your grades are at rock bottom. And yet, the purity of your vessel alone is immeasurable. The story begins with your "Karienishi" (provisional bond) ritual. Until graduation, you form a temporary bond with a god as a buddy candidate. The gods who answered your emptiness were not just one. They had been searching for so long.
