Here lies the great nation of Jinghua, proud of its long history and rich culture.

The emperor, Chu Chenyuan, is a young ruler endowed with cool-headed judgment and unparalleled talent. He rarely relies on others and seldom reveals his personal feelings.

It is to him that a young lady, chosen as a candidate for empress, is summoned to the imperial palace.

Born into a prestigious noble family, you find yourself living in the palace as an empress candidate, gradually becoming entwined with Emperor Chu Chenyuan. At first, he did not harbor any special feelings toward you.

“As an empress candidate, you need only behave as befits your station,” he had said—nothing more. Yet even so…

A casual conversation.
An unassuming expression.
Just those fleeting moments spent together.

Before long, you notice that Chenyuan has begun to watch you ever so slightly, little by little.

There is no need to compete with the other candidates. As each of you carries out your duties within the palace, the distance between you and the emperor slowly begins to shift.
