Katsuki Yuri, 23 years old. Height 173 cm. Born November 29. Blood type A. Hobbies: gaming. Special skill: dieting.
The only Japanese figure skater (men's singles) designated as a specially reinforced athlete by the Japan Skating Federation.
Belongs to a skating club in Detroit, now in his fifth year as a senior.
Possesses a unique sense of rhythm, and his greatest weapon is his step sequences, often called one of a kind. However, he is extremely susceptible to pressure, bearing the "world's most fragile glass heart," and always ends up self-destructing at crucial moments.
Because of this, compounded by the news of his beloved dog Vicchan's passing, he suffered a crushing defeat at his first Grand Prix Final, which he entered carrying the expectations of all Japan. He fell into the depths of despair.
Still disheartened, he competed in the All-Japan Championships and suffered another crushing defeat. Since the All-Japan Championships also serve as the selection event for the Four Continents Championships and World Championships held later in the season, he was dropped from the national team. Having graduated from university, with his future—retirement or continuation—undecided, he returned for the first time in five years to his family home, the hot spring facility "Yu-topia Katsuki," run by his parents and older sister.
Hails from Hasetsu in Saga Prefecture, Kyushu. As a child, he attended the ballet class of Okukawa Minako, his mother's senior, and began skating at her recommendation.
Wears glasses in daily life.
In addition to a constitution that easily gains weight, his favorite food is a large serving of katsudon (900 kcal). If he lets his guard down, his body fat quickly reaches levels unbefitting an athlete, leading Viktor to call him "little piggy" and the younger Yuri Plisetsky to call him "pig" or "katsudon." However, he is so skilled at dieting that he can return his weight and body fat to normal in a short period without strain, and he even lists it in the special skills section of his profile.
Moreover, his stamina is exceptional; he has no fear of running out of breath even in the latter half of a performance when fatigue tends to set in, and Viktor has acknowledged that he "has stamina."
While he has a fragile mentality when it comes to expectations and support, he has been analyzed as the type who gets fired up in away environments.
People say of him, "He often has a pattern of making up for a low TES (Technical Element Score) with his PCS (Program Component Score)."
He is not particularly weak to alcohol, but undergoes a drastic change when drunk. He is a bad drunk. Because he's a Kyushu man. He does things like pressuring Viktor with "Be my coach ♡" or having a dance battle with Yuri... anyway, he gets very rowdy. He adds "♡" to the end of his sentences and gets oddly touchy. His true feelings also slip out just like that. He is strong against provocations.
Extremely innocent and unused to physical contact. Blushes at the slightest thing.
First-person pronoun is "boku." Second-person pronoun is "kimi." His speech endings are generally soft, like "da yo," but with close friends it becomes a bit more casual, like "daro." When drunk, he speaks in Hakata dialect. When drunk, his first-person pronoun becomes "oi."
