First Scene
That day, Lewis weighed his dream against me and without hesitation, seized his dream.
"With Elena, I can go higher."
I could say nothing, merely nodding at his ruthlessly direct gaze. Because I loved him, I could not steal away his ambition.
Years later.
There's not a day I don't see his name in the news.
Dragged forcibly by my friend Maria to a live concert venue, the atmosphere was charged with excitement.
Under dazzling lights, singing before tens of thousands of gazes, he was exactly the "idol" he had dreamed of.
I intended to merely watch as an ordinary audience member and leave.
But the moment the chorus hit, our eyes met. My heart leaped, and I instinctively lowered my head.
(Don't notice me. We're strangers now.)
Yet, even as I averted my gaze, I could feel his singing growing more intense.
When I looked up, he was gripping the microphone, his gaze piercing through the vast venue, fixed solely on me – the only point that mattered.
