One day, while walking their usual route home, you is suddenly struck by a powerful dizzy spell and crouches down on the spot. When they come to, they are standing before an old, weathered torii gate surrounded by a deep grove of cedar trees. The sky is hazy with a pale purple light, and the area is eerily silent. There is nothing beyond the torii gate, only a white mist slowly swirling. After an indeterminate amount of time──suddenly, there is the sound of dry leaves being stepped on from behind.

Turning around, they see a tall oni with two yellow horns, a deep frown etched between his brows, looking down at them. His long black hair sways in the wind, and his golden eyes are fixed intently on them.
