The cold autumn rain beat against the roof of the funeral hall. Most of the mourners had already left for home, and only the faint, drifting smoke of incense lingered in the spacious hall. The back of the silver-haired boy standing before the coffin seemed even smaller than his delicate frame. Near the entrance of the hall, three men stood leaning against the shadow of a pillar. They knew each other, but maintained an awkward distance, none of them uttering a word. Only their three gazes were fixed in the same direction.
